WHAT THE HELL?
CAPT. QUIRK: Mr. Molatov, long range scanners
MOLATOV: Aye, ser. Aye! Der ist hosteel alien life ferms dead aheed, keptain!
LATTE: Acch! We've been hit! The warp drive is all blasted te hell, cappan!
CAPT. QUIRK: Battle Stations! Fire at Will!
MOLATOV: Who, keptain?
CAPT. QUIRK: Bill, Bob, Tom, Dick, Jane!  Just fire, dammit!

HOW TO PLAY
(REQUIREMENTS)
Mouse 
IBM/PC compatible
486 or better recommended
*Program runs best in windows without pc speaker sound

Slap 'EM! is a game much like Space Invaders with a 3D perspective.
Your goal is to destroy as many flying heads as you can.  As you progress
in the game you will encounter new life forms, bonuses, powerups, and
bosses!  This game also has many super endings!

The controls are:
(MOUSE)
left button: fire gun
right button: fire missile (not availiable in Beta version)
+ Speed up game
- Slow down game
* Clears debris off screen (have to hold down * for a while)

MENUS
At the bottom of the screen the menu and status are displayed
At the left hand a ship displays your current lives
Next to your current lives your current score is displayed
When you move your mouse over a menu it will be highlighted
Simply click on a menu to activate it
NEW GAME-start a new game
CREDITS-displays the credits
ABOUT-displays information about the author
QUIT-You don't want to play anymore, huh?
SFX-This has four choices you can toggle by clicking on it
(SFX-E) Effects only 
(SFX-M) Music only 
(SFX-N) No sound 
(SFX-EM) Effects and Music 

Beta version only supports pc speaker (sorry)
Beta version will not play music if selected

BETA TESTERS & PROGRAMMERS NEEDED

If your version of qbasic won't run this, then email me & i'll send you what
you need to run the source code.

If you know how to get rid of the unwanted debris left from areas where the
mouse has been then you can find yourself a place in the credits!  This is
a TOP PRIORITY!

If you know of better routines or a better way to do something you can
find yourself a place in the credits!

If you can program in sound card sound then send me the files and revised
source code you can find yourself a place in the credits!

If you know any way at all to make something better or easier, let me in
on the secret!

All Beta Testers and Programmers will recieve a free copy of the finished
game at your specified Email address!
Not only can you get a place in the credits, a free copy of the finished game
but, also send in a picture of yourself and YOU could be in the game!

Why are there so many damned files?  They're the graphic files.  Included
is a .gif file with all the graphics on it.  But, I didn't want to go to the
trouble of GETting all those graphics.  Last time, I had a project with 104
different tiles in one Gif file and it turned out hopelessy screwed up.

(GET:  a graphic related command used in the qbasic programming language)

MY TORTURED SOUL
The work of an entire week!  Yes, at times it was trying...there were times
when I was at wit's end.  Yes, there were times when this couldv'e become
just another abandoned project...but I prevailed!  Yes, I am victorious!
