When you start:
When you first load up sb by typeing in SB and pressing [Enter] in dos,
you will come to the main menu.  Move spinball to one of the five doors
to activate the function that goes with it.  In the center of the screen
a message appears telling you what the door you are by does.
The doors let you start a new level, type in a warp code, get help, see
the top player, or quit.  You can also press F1 anytime for help.

Object of game:

In every level there is an exit door that you must reach to advance to the
next level.  The object is simple - advance to the highest level you can
and WIN the game!  To see what the doors look like, press F1 while playing.

Currently there are 7 levels in this game:

Level 1: Escape 1/3
Level 2: Escape 2/3
Level 3: Escape 3/3 (battle vs steely)
Level 4: Ze water level!  Fortunately, spinball CAN'T drown. :)  Notice how
         the coins are a different color, and the speed.

Level 5: Rescue 1/3 You've reached the place where the cyber reactor is.               
Level 6: Rescue 2/3 Now you must battle it!
Level 7: Rescue 3/3 Just a little level, but with switches!              
Level 8: Intermission #1 (and the only one) kinda advances the story, if
         there was any.

Game playing:

--Coins--
Coins are a good thing.  The more coins you have, the less chance you have
of dying and having to start the level over.  If you get caught with no coins
you die!  If you collect 100 coins you gain an extra life.

--Bad guys--
There are only a couple in this game, the most common are the walking spikes,
which CAN'T be killed.  Avoid them at all costs

--Switches--
Some times you will come across a blue or red circular switch.  Just run
into it to trigger an event which is critical to letting you get farther.

--Warp codes and cheat codes--
Starting from level 2, when you pass a level you will receive a code that
can be typed in (WARP codes from main menu) to warp to the next level if
your game ends.  Cheat codes are words or phrases you type in while playing
the game.  Do NOT move Spinball while typeing in the codes.  Since you
have been reading this far, I will give you one code: "poor". It should help
you! Also, the warp code "swordfish" warps you to level 4, if you can't get
passed level 3.

liking as LONG as you give me credit and send me the program you make! :)

my level files to view them (in edit), please let me know.  All graphics
were created by Eric Carr in Charator Pro 1.0, except for the "grand can"
background picture in levels 5-6, which I dl'd off of a local bbs.

I have now encluded a SOURCE directory which holds the source code for
spinball v2.6.0.  Also included are the .DAT level files. These are text
files that can be EDITed and rePAKed to play in the game.

Feel free to look at and edit these DAT files.

::TO PLAY A LEVEL YOU'VE EDITED:
Say you edited LEVEL1.DAT.
Go to dos and type CODEIT and press enter. Type in LEVEL1 and press enter
again. Codeit will create a PAK file, which you should then copy it to
main directory. Then run spinball and go to level 1, wala!
