                        Kill Them All Again
                       -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
                        from NANO 1999

Basic idea of Kill Them All Again(KTAA) is to kill as much alien ships as you

F1 for slower action.
F2 for faster action.
F3 for speed to x2 or x1.
F4 to show fps and F4 again to hide fps.

Options:
If you are having slow computer, we recommend you shut STARS off.
There are three different skill levels:
Chicken: for total beginners.
Normal: for regular peoples.
Impossible: for brave ones.
Kamikaze: for real veterans.

<----How to install?---->
Run install.exe on MS-DOS. After succesfully install, run setup.exe for
selecting your sound card. After selecting sound card, type KTAA to start
game. This may sound little weird, but in my computer KTAA has little speed
bugs when playing in DOS. So I recommeded that you play it in Windows.

<----Versio history---->
v1.15(final) released 6 September'99
Now you can press ESC key allmost in every menu and it will close the menu
or something like that. No matter how fast your computer is, now the
screen saver(if it is on) will be launched directly after one minute, when
the computer has no user. Ship one's laser is now a little bit brighter.
I realized, that if you put sound ON from OFF, you may got an error message.
Read more about it from the options menu in game or in Troubleshooting
section. Code is better optimized and easier to read, but it is still very
messy. Credits move little bit smoother. Press F4 to see how many fps KTAA
have in your system. I made the fps calculator pretty fast, so it can show
the wrong result. Press F4 to activate it and F4 again to hide it. But while
the fps calculator is ON, the game is a little bit slower, so if you have
old and slow computer, I recommend you keep fps calculator off. Four new
ships, now totally EIGHT different. Enemy ships no longer shoot if they
are not on the screen. There is a little animation where your ship launch
from the secret base to protect some planet. Sorry, there is no higscore
list in this version, maybe next version. If speed is x2 then enemies shoot
faster. Stars and other single pixels are drawed now with POKE instead of
PSET, because it is faster to draw direct to the video memory.

v1.14 released 7 July'99
Jaakko told me, that Kill Them All Again is too fast in his computer, so I
made simple speed control panel to the game. To use it, press F1 for slower
speed and F2 for faster. But that's not enough, because default speed is
already in fastest mode, so press F3 for turn the speed x2 mode. Press F3
again to turn it back on x1. Now there is music in action too and it loops.
Yes, I know that the music is same as the menu music, but I don't know
anyone good music maker. Music loops now also in options and hangar.
Best thing in this version must be that you don't have to anymore watch that
silly little intro of Nano. Press ESC for jump over it. Couple of bug fixes.

v.1.13 released 25 June'99
In previous versions file enh.jod's(earlier, easy.jod, normal.jod, hard.jod)
code was really crappy. Now it is much more clearer and the code is easier
to read and maybe over 20% faster! Because the code is now much easier to
read, we are maybe going to make some extra ships in future. Gameplay is much
more better. Now there is an screensaver in the main menu. Setup(setup.exe) is
now on version 0.51. All the ships are now firing laser, bacause it makes us
easier to create extra ships to the next versions. If alien ships hit
together, now both of the ships will destroy. There are little changes in the
ships lasers. New skill level 'Kamikaze' added for real veterans. Files
ship1.joo, ship2.joo, ship3.joo and ship4.joo are deleted, and now there is
a little different hangar, where you can select your ship and there are
written their speed, armor and laser speed which helps you select good ship.
I know there are little speed problems in some computers when playing in DOS,
but I'am trying to fix them in the next versions.

v.1.12 released 21 June'99
Graphics in action updated from 16 colors to 256 colors(looks little bit
better). Now has support for old Sound Blaster 1.5 and 2.0 cards and there are
a new versions of setup.exe and install.exe. In previous versions there was
several bugs when music was off, now at least some of the bugs are fixed.
Fixed bug when sometimes enemy ship shoots and the laser stays to the
background. There was file nano.jod in the previus versions with, but it was
no use so it is now deleted. I wrote two tips for the game to bottom of this
file.

v.1.11 released 19 June'99
QMIDI 4.0 updated to QMIDI 4.1 and files easy.jod, normal.jod and hard.jod are
totally deleted. This version needs over 100kb less free disk space than
previous version. So the game doesn't need so much free disk space anymore. In
version 1.10 ktaa.zip was 447kb big, but in this version it is only 338kb!
There is now enh.jod which contains all the skill levels. MIDI music now loops
in main menu and you don't no longer have to restart KTAA if you turn music ON
from OFF.

v.1.10 released 18 June'99
New MIDI music in main menu. You need Sound Blaster compatible sound card to
hear music and couple of bug fixes. New setup.exe added, where you can select
your sound device.

v.1.01 released 13 June'99
New ending pictures added. Pictures are created by Jaakko Pyykkola.

v.1.00 released 7 June'99
First version ever released.

<----Coming to next versions maybe---->
*Multiplayer mode
*Deathmatch
*More ships
*More alien bastards
*More weapons
*T-Shirts:)
*All new sound effects
*Campaign mode
*Support for other sound devices

<----Tips---->
1. Don't ever fly throught explosion, you will get a lot of damage if you do it.
2. Don't fly too front of alien ship, bacause then it will shoot very fast and it
is very deadly.

<----Troubleshooting---->
q=question a=answer

q:Why is KTAA damn slow under windows 9x?
a:It is much faster to run it on MS-DOS. There are seweral ways to make KTAA run
faster. Try turning Stars OFF and don't keep fps calculator ON.

q:Why my ship isn't moving at all?
a:Make sure you have runned the mouse driver or go to internet and download
new drivers. That should work.

q:Why do I got an error message when I put music On from OFF?
a:You could put music On if you have loaded SBMIDI before running KTAA or you can
put sound ON from setup.exe before running KTAA.

That's it! We hope you enjoy our new action game, Kill Them All Again.
