  Welcome to the mini-RPG sequel, The Secret of Cooey II. For those of you
  who enjoyed the first game, or never played it, read on to find out what's
  new in the sequel.

  RUNNING THE GAME
  ---------------->>

  In DOS (Or a DOS box):

  In the directory where you unzipped the game (Say, C:\SOC2), type START
  to begin playing.

  In WIN95/98:

  Click on the start menu. Click on run. Type the directory where you
  installed the game (Say, C:\SOC2) and then type START after it. So if you
  put the game in a directory called SOC2 on your C drive, you would type
  C:\SOC2\START Now, click on OK to begin the game.

  WHAT'S NEW
  ---------->>

  Many improvements have been made from The Secret of Cooey. Even with all
  of that, the game still took a fairly short length of time to complete...
  All in all, about a month and half to finish. So what is new? Here's a
  short list:

  - The game is now in 256 colours.
  - The quest is longer than the original.
  - Graphics have been improved.
  - An original MIDI soundtrack.
  - A cursor for all menus, instead of 'press this number for this choice'.
  - A much more complex magic system.
  - Better balanced game play.
  - A secret level... Oops, you weren't supposed to know that ;)

  CONTROLS
  -------->>

  Arrow Keys - Move Cooey around on map screen. Move the cursor around in
               menus.
  <ENTER> - Call up menu on map screen. Make selections in menus.
  <ESC> - Cancel selections in menus. Quit game on map screen.

  STORY
  ----->>

  A story? In a Cooey game? Are you kidding? Okay, okay... Uhm, an evil
  tower has appeared. The dark crystal casts a black shadow on the world.
  Cooey decides to venture to the tower and collect the crystal before all
  is lost.  There.  Happy?

  GAMEPLAY
  -------->>

  The game is easy to play. You assume the role of Cooey, and set out on a
  quest to find the dark crystal. Of course, there are many monsters on
  your way who will try to stop you. Battles take place in a simple turn
  based RPG style. Pick your choice from the menus and try to kill the
  baddie. Will you attack? Use some magic? Maybe an item? Or maybe you'll
  be forced to run for your life? All in all, there are over 30 different
  monsters waiting for you in Secret of Cooey II.

  NOTES
  ----->>

  Well... Let me know what you think of the game. As always, this is a
  freeware release... I truly think that small games like this should always
  be free. However (Oh oh... Here it comes), if you really enjoyed this
  game... Hah! I bet you thought I was going to beg for money... Fat chance.
  I like doing things a different way, so here's the story: Go rummage
  through your house (Go... Do it... Now!) and find an old game (It can be
  from any system, NES and up. Yes, Japanese, European, and other imports
  are welcome) that you don't play any more, or don't want. Now, send me an
  e-mail, letting me know about it, and I'll give you my mailing address so
  that you can send it my way. Different? I thought so. ;)

  Anyway, above all, e-mail me and tell me what you thought of the game. I
  always listen to suggestions, and I reply to as much e-mail as I can...
  Which, by the way, is almost all of it... I don't count spam as e-mail ;)

  Cheers!

  DarkDread

  OMISSIONS
  --------->>

  Here's some things I would've liked to put in the game, but couldn't:

  WAV sound effects - The routines would not work, unfortunately :(
  Keyboard Handler - Crashed the game, then my system. Damn!
