I'll Keep this simple (like the game). Defuser is an
extremely simple action game made in Quickbasic. It's the
forth mini game that we have made, and it's the second last
mini game I will make before breaking into our RPG, Tales Of
Utopia! Defuser is based on a number of commodore 64 games
that I have and forgeten the name of - The idea is that you
catch bombs as they fall. Simple stuff. But let me warn you,
I can't even finish Level 10, and I programmed it!

The Plot is simple. Happyface, the LardJar, has the power
to defuse bombs by catching them. It looks to poor little
happy face that now he's goning to need that power. For he
annoyed his teachers at school. He set up all the computers
to load up Microsoft Access 103 times when the computer
boots up. Of course HappyFace didn't mean anything by it!
He was sorry for what he did! Bordom can drive a HappyFace
do do stupid, Stupid, things. But no. This apology wasn't
good enough for his teachers. At first they told him not
to do it again. HappyFace Sighed of relief. It was over.
HappyFace would never do anything that stupid again. But
the next day, in computer class, HappyFace was told not
to use the computer today. Poor HappyFace. That same
day, he was fired from his job which he liked, and
wasn't told why. Sniff Sniff... The NEXT day, happyface
recieved a "Serious Breach Of Disipline" sheet, and
a one year ban on the computers in the school. At this
stage, HappyFace was going nuts! This Double Jeprody
was going to kill him. In fact, it was. For the next
day, he recieved a special delivery from the school.
Several hundred bombs falling from the sky. Oh NO!
HappyFace cryed! He had to stop it!

- (Note : All similarities HappyFace's Dilema and
that of the programmer shares are purly coincedental :)

When you play the game, you'll realise how little work went
into it. Such is the mini game, a game which forgoes
'unnessecary' things like good graphics, music, plotline,
etc for GamePlay - and in this particular case, even that
is argueable....

This game represents a day and a half of programming. I
started this to celebrate the end of school, and I quickly
made a game out of it.

The Source code, is of course, included, Sorry about the
mess it's in. The game is self contained, all Sound
and graphics are loaded in data statments inside the game.
Flicker is eliminated by the use of screen 7, and Qbasic's
built in Page Copying routines. Oh. And thanks to Willaim
Moores for the mouse routines!

Anyway, like I said, the game is simple. Use the Mouse
to move happy face about. Catch the bombs. Finish the game.
Simple.

I suppose I'd better write something about Dark Legends
Software here. Here's a current list of our mini Games.
-----------------------------------------------------------
SpellBound Island

A text Adventure. It's quite Hard, or so I'm told - I
tought it was a little simple myself.

KillMice

Svante made this one. Hunt down Mice with the the - you
guessed it, the mouse. Have fun!

Black Hole

Our most professional mini game. An addictive little
puzzle game that I've got quite a few good comments about.
