BAkuen SakuRu Wave 2.<Mar. 04,2001>

** there is some extra stuff in here. if you've played the original sakuru,
check the special controls section. Also, this isn't a "sequel". Consider
Bakuen Sakuru to be a serial game. released piece by piece. ok!

here you go. Hyper Anime #4 game. Bakuen(combustible) SAkuru. I chose the
jap term!! I have the bloody Kanji!! rezo loves his "how to write Kanji" book!!

ok now to the readme stuff.
This is Bakuen Sakuru: Wave 2. So if you haven't played wave one yet, get it at
QB45.com . and bloody review the bloody games you download from there. Zeta has
3 or 4 reviews out 2000 bloody downloads!!

(I will now stop using the word bloody. I have no idea how I started using the
bloody word anyways...)

to run the game, run sakuru2.bat. this is to load and unload sound drivers.
No source. I'm not a good programmer, and I don't use comments, so it'd only
confuse you.

special controls
---------

pushing 1-5 will trigger different music for you to listen to.

1- Reppu! Shippu! Psybuster

2- Sora Tobu Mazinger Z!!(slow version or something, not the song I remember)

3- Dunbine Tobu(I called it Attack Dunbine in the game. but Tobu means soar.I
was confused because in the lyrics, I know they say Attack attack attack! or
something.... but that may be masked rider...)

4- Shobu Gundam(Opening song from original Gundam.)

5- Z toki o moete(Z -beyond the time. opening song from Zeta Gundam)

**if you trigger these songs and they end, then ther will be no more music
until you turn on another song. This was just something I put in for myself
and decided to leave in. also, on levels 2 and 3. if the regular song ends,
it will not be restarted. cus' I'm a lzy programmer? anyways, you'll have to
pick another song(nothing like picking music while dodging bullets)
. the best ones to use are Dunbine or Z-beyond the time.
because they're long.

OK. now if you push buttons 6-8. you will save a screenshot of the game as a
BMP.

heres a neat chart to show what pic each button will save on what level.

                6 7 8
             ------------------------------
level 1 pic1.bmp pic2.bmp pic3.bmp

level 2 pic4.bmp pic5.bmp pic6.bmp

level 3 pic7.bmp pic8.bmp pic9.bmp

simple enough, right? ok then... now for the real controls.

controls.
_________

arrow keys move you around.obvious?

esc-exits the game.only done during gameplay.

ctrl-shoot

alt-special shoot.

power 1.- shoots behind.

power 2.- shoots in all directions.

power 3.- executes beautiful love love heart snake! when powered up to the
max, keep your finger on the special button and weave the hearts around the
screen.

spacebar- power up. power down.( I fixed the bug from part one. this function
should always work properly now. This is the only update I made to the entire
game, I believe.)

let me explain. for every kill, you get a little energy.
if you have some of this energy, pushing space will allow you to use it.
but you can use it up. so you may want to conserve this energy for great boss
battles.

if your power up bar is full, you will have access to the strongest weapon. But
you will not be able to power down out of this mode until it runs out.also, while
in mode 3. your power bar does not decrease until mode 3 is over. at that point
it takes you back to only 30% full.

also, if you are in mode 2 or 3. you do not power up from kills.

obviously mode 2 is when your second level of power, and you only get mode 3
when your bar is maxxed.

you have six lives. the hearts on the top of the screen are the amount of hits you
can take before dying. I.... I haven't tested whether or not the game is smart
enough to end after you die 6 times. I assume I'm not that bad of a programmer.
but when you lose all six lives. the game just exits. also, when you die,
he game instantly sticks you back at the start of the level. as far as difficulty,
well, I had a little trouble when I first made each level, and I still have
trouble on the last level. I suppose thats a good thing?
the collision is a little off with some of the bullets. only a fraction
but this is a shooter after all.fractions count. and that's it.

thats all.

sorry for low quality story scenes. I made them all during the same day, really
fast. they're not necessary really anyways.also, there are only three levels,
Its easier this way, and it means ther're no "filler" levels. Its hard coming
up with bosses. and I don't like the idea of level 1 boss having "1 gun". and
the level 2 boss has "2 guns". OOH! so thats why... It was hard coming up with
story scenes.... I'm starting to understand the forced nature of sequels.

here's an abridged thanx section:

future software for making the future library, without which I probably
wouldn't be able to make any game the way I wanted. well I still can't.
but that's only because I'm not a good programmer. check out my code(wait! you
can't!! NYAAHHH!!!) Hey, future people, add a two waves at once feature, huh?

Carl Gorringe for making the QB flic player. without that, this game wouldn't
have a story. nor would Puzzle bomber. or any game I ever make probably.
Except for Kunio Kun. but I even used the flic player for the games logo. in
full japanese by the way, which will only serve to confuse you...

Precurser at endeffect.org for making the hyper anime logo for me way
back in high school. Also for being the only reason I don't completely
CG artists. Admittedly ,I don't want to have such a corny company name
but I keep it for nostalgia purposes.

Capcom. for bringing out UN Squadron. the game that got me thinking about
shooters again.

Treasure. For bringing out (any game by treasure). They helped me realize
that the most important thing about a shooter is the boss battles. who cares
about what comes before or after them. If you have a great boss, then the game
is great. for a bit of perspective, this game has 6 bosses in its 3 levels.
gunstar Heroes has 7 in ONE level. probably the single greatest level in gaming
history.

Also thanks to Go Nagai, Yoshiyuki Tomino, and Bandai for their work on the
excellent giant robot series who I stole the music from for this game.

Funco land. for that is where I got UN squadron. roms you say? I don't play
roms.... but then I buy fansubs.... which makes me a f*cken hypocrite right?

also thanks to the Qmidi people.(person?) ... heh heh... I doh't have a name.
maybe next time.

rezo. the "other member".
