This folder contains Frank Kunze's very excellent "Eamon Deluxe" system, a quite amazing conversion of the basic Apple II Eamon system to MS-DOS. It does a very good job of retaining the flavor of the original Apple Eamon while adding many very nice enhancements. I think you will enjoy playing with it.

This system can be installed directly from this CD. Simply double click the INSTALL.EXE file in the EAMONDX directory. It will create an EAMONDX folder on your hard drive and will put the system there. You must select each of the menued items for a full install. Everything will unpack to the newly-created EAMONDX folder. As these are new files rather than copies, they will not have a read-only status.

It can also be transferred to floppy disks for those of you who don't have a CD Writer and want to give copies out. The folders (on this CD) EAMONDX\DISK1, EAMONDX\DISK2, EAMONDX\DISK3, etc. contain files that you can copy to your floppy drive. Do not transfer the folders themselves, but just the files within them. After you have made your floppies, double-click on the program INSTALL.EXE on the floppy.

To start Eamon Deluxe, run the program EAMONDX.BAT in the EAMONDX folder.

This version of Eamon Deluxe contains many improvements over the one first released on the Eamon CD. If you already have Eamon Deluxe on your PC and want to install the updated version, simply delete (or rename) the entire EAMONDX directory and start over.

Here are some tips:

If the arrow keys won't move you around the Graphics Main Hall, try pushing your NumLock key and/or using your numeric keypad.

After Eamon Deluxe starts, maximize the window, and click on the properties button on the button bar at the top of the window. Select screen, and select "Full-Screen." ALWAYS RUN EAMON DELUXE IN FULL SCREEN!

If it ever hangs and leaves you in never-never land on that DOS screen, pressing Alt-Esc should drop it back to a window on your desktop. Or try Control-Alt-Delete.
