[[Category:Total DOS Collection (TDC)]] '''[[:Category:Total DOS Collection (TDC)|The TDC Index]]''' === Cartridges === The two images here are the ones which have been converted to DOS executables and thus the raw material (the cart image itself) goes here. The other cart images are scattered through the tdc\games\files area. Search for ".jrc.zip" to find them. Someday those too will be converted to DOS and the cart images will end up in this folder. Note that all JRC files have a 512 byte header prepended to the raw image data for descriptive purposes. If you're planning on writing these back to an EEPROM, that data needs to be removed first. === CD Images === * Alien Odyssey (En)(Dk)(De)(Fr)(Es)(It) (1995)(Philips Interactive Media, Inc.) [ISO].zip - appears to contain a corrupt VILSCNE1.BRP. ISO has a CRC32 of 46094f99 * Aliens- A Comic Book Adventure (Installer) (1995)(Mindscape, Inc.) [Adventure].zip - CD-ZIP of the ISOs under the same name. Both CDs are available in this zip, but there were duplicate filenames so the 2nd CD is inside the "_CD2" folder. There are installer options for English, French and German, but not sure how to employ other languages. * Dragon Lore GOLD- The Legend Begins v2.0 (1995)(Mindscape, Inc.) [ISO].zip - the contents of this CD set is identical to bin.ecm/cue files with CRC32s of e65e7307, f630db76. When un-ECMed, the bin files have a CRC32 of 40e82cc2, 4dfdeeaa. * Dragon Lore II- The Heart of the Dragon Man v1.2 (Fr) (1996)(Cryo Interactive Entertainment) [ISO].zip - CD1 has identical contents (files) to another ISO called "dlore2_fr_disc1.ISO" with CRC32 of 1c8059d4 with a size of 665745408! (that's ~100mb bigger!) * Dragon Lore II- The Heart of the Dragon Man v1.3 (1997)(Interplay Productions, Inc.) [ISO].zip - has identical contents as bin.ecm/cue copies that are disc1 53EB57F2, disc2 35A4DDCE, disc3 2F432B89 after unECMing. * Dune (En)(Fr)(De)(It)(Es) (1993)(Virgin Games, Ltd.) [ISO].zip - matches ISO image with CRC32: 28091B45. contents differ toward the end of the respective ISO images, the 'b45 CD seems to have some garbage. * Epic Pinball v2.0 [SWR] (1994)(Romware GMBH) [ISO].zip - "ROMWARE CD 10014" * Fatal Racing (En)(De)(Fr) (1995)(Gremlin Interactive Limited) [bin-cue].zip - content identical to bin/cue with crc32 of 67a298eb, 2db70caa * Flight Unlimited vF2.4S [a1] (1995)(Looking Glass Technologies, Inc.) [bin-cue].zip - slightly different file layout and missing 2 windows executables as compared to the base version. This CD was converted to bin/cue from an NRG file with crc32 0x9b6d4533. * JetFighter III v1.22 (1996)(Mission Studios) [ISO].zip - Not convinced this CD wasn't homebrewed. Folder dates are from 2007. redump doesn't have this one. * Lighthouse- The Dark Being v1.0c (Installer) (1996)(Sierra On-Line, Inc.) [Adventure].zip - CD-ZIP of the ISOs under the same name. There are two files that were dupllicate names but different between the two CDs. ROBOTS\101.RBT was renamed to ROBOTS\101_CD1.RBT. MOVIES\4488.VMD was renamed to MOVIES\4488_CD1.VMD and the two files of the same name from CD2 are the ones being used. This matches the two files in v1.1, so it seems like these are the right files to use, but at least in case of troubles the files from CD1 are still available. * Man Enough v1.10 (1994)(Tsunami Media, Inc.) [ISO].zip - Also requires a floppy for installation. It is included in the (installer) CD-ZIP in files\1994. No IMA file is available for that diskette currently. The 2 ISO images in this archive match the file set from another ISO set with CRC32 of 0x2458a918 and 0x84769e6f. It appears those ISO images are copies created in 2011. The set in TDC have more appropriate 1993 timestamps in the CD table of contents. * Metaltech- Earthsiege - Expansion Pack (En)(Fr)(De) (1995)(Sierra On-Line, Inc.) [bin-cue].zip - has identical contents to the ISO image with a CRC32 of 0x712711fa size 134,287,360 so the ISO was dumped. * Normality (Nl) with CRC32 of 0x41935e12 has identical content to the UK release: Normality (1996)(Gremlin Interactive Limited) [ISO].zip, so there's not much use in adding it into TDC. * Normality (1996)(Gremlin Interactive Limited) [ISO].zip - identical in content to an ISO with CRC32 of 0x7376F298, but that one appears to have been created with ultraISO, so more likely to be a homebrew. It's also identical in content to an ISO with a CRC32 of 0xa464825c * Normality v1.2 (De) (1996)(Gremlin Interactive Limited) [ISO].zip - identical in contents to ISO with CRC32 of 0x54339817, which like above, appears to have been created with ultraISO. * Normality vF6 (1996)(Interplay Entertainment Corp.) [ISO].zip - identical in content to ISO with CRC32 of 0x3b3aa5e1. same as above, ultraISO made. * Police Quest- Collection Series (1997)(Sierra Entertainment, Inc.) [ISO].7z - this is a 7z because it exceeds the maximum size for a normal zip (2gb). * Quake v1.06 [SWR][a1] (1996)(id Software, Inc.) [bin-cue].zip - This CD is identical in content (files) as non a1 but the audio tracks are different. Came from redump http://redump.org/disc/10332/ Since the base version of this is from the id anthology, it may make more sense to move that bin-cue into an anthology zip and make this [a1] a base, since it appears to be stand-alone quake. * Queen- The eYe (1998)(Electronic Arts, Inc.) [bin-cue].7z - this is a 7z because it exceeds the maximum size for a normal zip (2gb). * Ripper (1996)(Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc.) [bin-cue].7z - this is a 7z because it exceeds the maximum size for a normal zip (2gb). * Sinbad and the Throne of the Falcon (1994)(Prism Leisure Corporation Plc) [Action, Strategy, Compilation].zip - CD-ZIP of the bin-cue of the same name. this release may be under the wrong name; it might be a compilation. the "games6" folder seems to hint that this is from a series of "megahits" type collections which prism leisure were fond of doing. * Tie Break Tenis 98' (Es)(It)(Pt) [b1] (1998)(Hammer Technologies) [bin-cue].zip - appears corrupt when comparing against the non-b1 copy in TDC. Corruption starts at offset 5af8978 and is 360 bytes in length. This garbage data appears to be outside of the file data, as CD-ZIPs made off each CD image were 100% identical. * Ultima Underworld- The Stygian Abyss - Wing Commander II- Vengeance of the Kilrathi (CD-ROM Edition) (1992)(ORIGIN Systems, Inc.) [bin-cue][!].zip - two original copies of the CD, both identical. * Ultimate Wizardry Archives, The [h1] (1998)(Interplay Entertainment Corp.) [ISO].zip - hacked as it looks like in 2007 someone added a new folder with maps and docs. Hopefully this is an usual occurrence and ISOs are otherwise un-tampered. This image has been removed. * Ultimate Wizardry Archives, The (1998)(Interplay Entertainment Corp.) [ISO].zip - looks to be homemade (ultraISO with a 2011 TOC timestamp), but has slightly different content. The bin-cue set is from redump and timestamp is 1998. === Floppy Images === * Amarillo Slim's Real Poker Five Card Stud (1989)(Villa Crespo Software) [IMA][360k][!].zip - matched disk dump from old-games.ru * Arac (1988)(Prism Leisure Corporation Plc) [IMA][720k].zip - the 360k release is highly protected. This 720k version appears not to be protected. * Blackthorne (1994)(Interplay Productions, Inc.) [IMA][1440k].zip - unknown source. File set matches tgod 003030 which is definitely not from an original source. These look cleaner. * Code-Name- Iceman v1.023 (1989)(Sierra On-Line, Inc.) [IMA][360k][!].zip - tgod has 2 sets of iceman: 003411_codename_iceman and 000169_codename_iceman. For both of those sets, disks 2-9 matched the independently sourced copy in TDC. Between the 2 tgod sets and the TDC set, we had 3 different CRC values for disk 1. A 4th, indepenedently dumped copy of disk 1 was generated and it matched the 003411 set, so finally a tiebreaker as to which one is correct. tgod's notes say that 003411 was restored by hand, the new copy wasn't touched at all so this shows the tgod restoration was quality work. * Conflict (1990)(Virgin Mastertronic Ltd.) [IMA][360k][!].zip - 100% match of a separate IMA dump from a different TDC content provider. * Corporation (1991)(Virgin Games, Inc.) [IMA][720k][!].zip - taken from fallenoak's upload. Matched exactly the files set in TDC, so that zip got upped to [!] too. * Digger [b1] (1983)(Windmill Software) [_cracked, played, works but nowhere original_].img.zip - taken from retrograde station. has sectors that are copy protected written as "!" (for flopper) and the high score sector has been used and abused. * Double Dragon [a1] (1988)(Arcadia Systems, Inc.) [IMA][360k][!].zip (and [kfx]) are from newrisingsun. These are newer, 1989 and might be the mastertronic release. * Dune II- The Building of a Dynasty (1992)(Virgin Games, Inc.) [IMA][1440k].zip - This is tgod 002626 image set. * Dune II- The Battle for Arrakis v1.07 (Fr)(En)(De) (1993)(Virgin Games, Ltd.) [IMA][1440k].zip - this is tgod 0000204, which matches tgod 989 except for disk 4. 204 seems to be the better of the two dumps. * F-15 Strike Eagle v402.02 (EGA) (1987)(MicroProse Software, Inc.) [Action, Simulation][!].img.zip - bytematched a tzipped version off the net. this one was dumped in 2007. * Finale (1990)(Elite Systems Ltd.) [kfx][720k][cp][!].zip - The hidden file POLA106.EXE on the Gng disk image, which is rewritten every time the game is run, has a 2014 change date. Other disk images in this compilation are untouched. * Fire & Forget II- The Death Convoy [b1] (1990)(Titus France SA) [IMA][720k].zip - game has on-disk copy protection which these IMA files cannot reproduce. Best known dump. * Flashback- The Quest for Identity [b1] (1993)(U.S. Gold Ltd.) [IMA][720k-1440k].zip - trashed boot sectors. File contents appear to be ok. * Freddy Pharkas - Frontier Pharmacist (1993)(Sierra On-Line, Inc.) [IMA][1440k][!].zip * Gobliins 2- The Prince Buffoon (1992)(Sierra On-Line, Inc.) [IMA][1440k][!].zip - matches tgod, matches tosec. * Gods [b1] (1992)(Renegade Software) [IMA][720k].zip - game has on-disk copy protection which these IMA files cannot reproduce. Best known dump. * Gryzor (1988)(Ocean Software Ltd.) [IMA][360k][cp].zip - Yes this is an IMA and it's copy protected. The deal here is that it works in emulators that always return success on INT 13h reads, which trick the copy protection into working. This IMA file will not work on a true DOS machine or properly emulated box. * Hacker (1988)(Mastertronic, Inc.) [IMA][360k][!].zip - 100% match of a separate IMA dump from a different TDC content provider. * Heimdall 2- Into the Hall of Worlds (En)(De)(Fr)(It)(Es)(No) (1994)(Core Design Ltd.) [IMA][1440k][!].zip - crc match IMA file dumped independently, so upgraded the IMA. * HOSER (1982)(Blue Giant Software, Inc.) [IMA][160k].zip - verified kfx dump can reproduce an IMA file created off the original disk via a different computer via a different software package. winImage doesn't know how to deal with this file since it is formatted in DOS 1.0 * Italy '90 Soccer (It) (1989)(Simulmondo) [IMA][720k][!].zip - crc matched IMA file dumped independently, so upgraded the IMA. * Innocent Until Caught v1.96 (1993)(Psygnosis Limited) [IMA][1440k].zip - matches tgod 003174_innocent_until_caught, filenames and timestamps of the IMA files were different, so hopefully these are a unique dump resulting in identical data * King's Quest V- Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder! v0.000.051 (1990)(Sierra On-Line, Inc.) [IMA][720k-1220k].zip - renamed from tgod 001731_kings_quest_5.zip * Leisure Suit Larry III- Passionate Patti in Pursuit of the Pulsating Pectorals! v1.003 [b1] (1989)(Sierra On-Line, Inc.) [IMA][720k].zip - bad sectors but they do not appear to be in file regions since a pull of the files off this set exactly matched a previously available (and tzipped) copy of this game. * M1 Tank Platoon v449.01 [b1] (1989)(MicroProse Software, Inc.) [IMA][360k].zip - this version of the game has key disk protection, which these IMA files cannot represent correctly, thus they are bad but useful for IDentification purposes. * M1 Tank Platoon v449.02 [b1] (1989)(MicroProse Software, Inc.) [IMA][360k].zip - this version of the game has key disk protection, which these IMA files cannot represent correctly, thus they are bad but useful for IDentification purposes. The other 449.02 IMA copy does not have key disk protection, nor does the Kixx XL version in 1994. * M1 Tank Platoon v449.02 [b1] (1990)(MicroProse Software Limited) [IMA][720k].zip - 2x720k disks, taken from tgod 002543. This version has disk protection (hence the [b1] since IMAs can't express it) but also has a couple additional files like the Kixx XL release from 1994. It is being attributed to the german 1990 release, but information is limited. Some file dates are 1990. * Manchester United Europe (En)(Fr)(De)(Es)(It) (1992)(Krisalis Software Ltd.) [IMA][720k][!].zip - crc match IMA file dumped independently, so upgraded the IMA. * Might and Magic, Book I- Secret of the Inner Sanctum [b1] (1987)(New World Computing, Inc.) [IMA][1440k].zip taken from tgod's 001333_might_and_magic.zip. Bad as there is disk protection which cannot be represented in IMA format. And why is this on 1.44mb disks? It was originally released as 2x360k. * Mixed-Up Mother Goose (SCI) v1.011 [b1] (1990)(Sierra On-Line, Inc.) [IMA][720k].zip - Has disk protection, which IMA cannot reproduce. See kfx entry. * Mixed-Up Mother Goose (SCI) v1.011 [b1] (1990)(Sierra On-Line, Inc.) [kfx][720k].zip - Has been written to, resource.cfg and SCIV.EXE are not original. SCIV patched to remove disk copy protection. * Monkey Island 2- LeChuck's Revenge v5.2.02 (1991)(Lucasfilm Games LLC) [IMA][1440k][!].zip * NAM (1998)(GT Interactive Software Corp.) [ISO].zip - identical to NAM (1998)(GT Interactive Software Corp.) [bin-cue].zip (from redump) in CD file contents except for SUPPORT\NAM.IDF which is a ~480mb file of random data and not part of the game itself. * Ninja (1986)(Mastertronic, Inc.) [IMA][360k].zip - From original disk, although DOS 2.1 and autoexec.bat are likely not original. * Ninja Gaiden II- The Dark Sword of Chaos (1991)(Tecmo, Ltd.) [IMA][720k][!].zip - matches tosec * Night Shift v1.1 [b1] (1990)(Lucasfilm Games LLC) [IMA][720k].zip - from tgod 002204_night_shift.zip. Disk 1 isn't Night Shift at all, someone restored a backup over the top. Disk 2 has two 2-byte differences (identical data, in the backup copy of the fat I believe) as the [a1] version. This version and the [a1] version appear to be duplicated by ALF, whereas the base version has Tandy boot signatures. All file contents, including timestamps, are identical. * Night Shift v1.1 [a1] (1990)(Lucasfilm Games LLC) [IMA][720k].zip - * Out of This World (1992)(Interplay Productions, Inc.) [IMA][720k][!].zip * Populous [a1] (1989)(Electronic Arts, Inc.) [IMA][360k][!].zip - different only in that the timestamps have changed compared to base version. * Return to Zork (1993)(Activision, Inc.) [IMA][1440k][!].zip - disk set matched the one dumped with kfx. * Rex Nebular and the Cosmic Gender Bender v8.44 (1992)(MicroProse Software, Inc.) [IMA][1440k][!].zip * Secret of the Silver Blades v1.20 (1990)(Strategic Simulations, Inc.) [IMA][720k][!].zip - crc match IMA file dumped independently, so upgraded the IMA. * Siege v1.2 (1992)(Mindcraft Software, Inc.) [IMA][720k].zip - this is the tgod 001850 set. Matches another set dumped in 2010, so likely this is [!]. * Siege v1.2 [a1] (1992)(Mindcraft Software, Inc.) [IMA][720k].zip - matches the above in content but OEMid's and FAT modified. I think these were from user remax. * Siege- Dogs of War v2.0 (1992)(Mindcraft Software, Inc.) [IMA][720k].zip - this is tgod's 001851 set. * Spear of Destiny [SWR] (1992)(FormGen, Inc.) [IMA][720k][!].zip * Space Quest V- The Next Mutation v1.03 (1993)(Sierra On-Line, Inc.) [IMA][1440k][!].zip * Super Henrik på Gylden Borg (Da) [b1] (1993)(Rapsoft) [IMA][1440k].zip - (kfx file too) taken from archive.org, disk has bad sectors. Best known dump. * Taito's Super Space Invaders (1991)(Domark Software Ltd.) [IMA][720k][!].zip - matched tgod with arj0n dumps: * Team Yankee (1990)(Empire Software) [IMA][360k][!].zip - matched 002520_team_yankee.zip from redump as well as another IMA file dumped approximately 4 years different. Seems suspicious playfile and playfile.bak are on the disk (these two removed from teh 720k release) * ThunderBlade (1989)(SEGA Enterprises Ltd.) [IMA][720k].zip - this is togod's 002398_thunderblade.zip all files are from 1992, same date, original/KIXX have diffent stamps per file missing files: INSTALL.EXE/BAT UNINSTALL.EXE executable is compressed with LZEXE instead of EXEPACK size close to US gold release 128 bytes difference (unpacked) copy protection is disabled, but still there the KIXX release is from 1991 and has no copy protection and original timestamps * Top Gun (1987)(Thunder Mountain) [kfx][360k][cp].zip - This is the first Thunder Mountain edition of the game, protected with Formaster Copylock. It is modified because DOS has been transferred to the disk. The Thunder mountain editions do not support the Amstrad 1512 and therefore lose 16-color support. * Top Gun [a1][b1] (1987)(Thunder Mountain) [kfx][360k][cp].zip - This is the second Thunder Mountain edition of the game, protected with Mindscape DEM v3. Only two sectors are actually bad, and those sectors were empty before. Apart from that slight flaw, the image is actually pristine, as neither DOS has been transferred nor the game installed to hard disk. * Torin's Passage (En)(Fr)(De) (1995)(Sierra On-Line, Inc.) [bin-cue].zip - Appears to be from 1995; patches folder is less than the 1996 release. * Torin's Passage (En)(Fr)(De) (1995)(Sierra On-Line, Inc.) [ISO].zip - Has Italian language folder, but the msg files are all english. Has some odd things like internet explorer included. May be home-brewed since folder timestamps are 1999. * Torin's Passage (En)(Fr)(De) (1996)(Sierra On-Line, Inc.) [ISO].zip - Later release, with 1996 folder timestamps. More patch files. * Torin's Passage (De)(En)(Fr) (1995)(Sierra On-Line, Inc.) [bin-cue].zip - German release, basically identical to the others but German is the default install language. * Walls of Rome [a1] (1993)(Mindcraft Software, Inc.) [IMA][1440k].zip - From tGoD. Data(file) contents are identical but compared to base version, It looks to me like the ones that are in TDC currently have all the .exe files touched with "last access time" utilized. The tgod set does not have that (both bytes are 00) However, the tgod set has some unused sectors full of 00's where the TDC copies are 0xF6. Formatted but unused sectors should be 0xF6. * Wizball (1987)(Ocean Software Ltd.) [IMA][360k][!].zip - crc match IMA file dumped independently, so upgraded the IMA. * Wordtris (1991)(Spectrum Holobyte, Inc.) [IMA][360k][!].zip - matched set dumped back in 1991. kfx dump may not be validated yet * WWF Wrestlemania (1992)(Ocean Software Ltd.) [IMA][720k].zip - This is TGoD's 002065_wwf_wrestlemania 720k disk. wwf.exe is dated 4-8-1992 and is different than other copies of WWF. Files (and dates) match the 360k set. * WWF Wrestlemania (1992)(Ocean Software Ltd.) [IMA][360k].zip - This is TGoD's 002066_wwf_wrestlemania 360k set. See above. * Zool v100393 [a1] (1993)(Gremlin Graphics Software Ltd.) [IMA][720k].zip - TOSEC version. Minor boot sector changes compared to base, which is from tgod. File contents are identical.
