Note: Many of the titles listed below are tagged as [b1]. That really only means that there are things missing as they were CD-Ripped by pirate groups back in the day. The games likely still play just fine. As we continue through this project, we'll go through the CD images we have and merge the missing bits back into the game (and then remove the [b1]'s). While you might think it would make sense to just include the .ISO image of the CD instead, that doesn't help in cataloging for the .dat file, and that's what this project is all about right now.

This is admittedly an unusual situation and is experimental in implementation. Only 2 files across all 4 CDs had the same name but different CRCs: SYSTEM\GO.BAT and SYSTEM\INSTCHEK.EXE. These two files were different on CD1 than the other three CDs, so majority ruled as to which one to use. The files from CD1 were renamed to GO1.BAT and INSTCHEK.EX1 respectively.

This copy is identical to a CCD copy floating around with alien.img having a CRC32 of a477e3de, alien.sub ae4c2840, so it was upgrade to a known good dump.

The discs had duplicate filenames, so the entire 2nd CD is placed in the root folder _CD2. The installer will install to C:\aliens so be careful not to install over the top of your DOSBox mount. Also, one thing REAL hard to figure out in league mode was to advance to game day, simply right click on the time in the lower left hand corner to speed up time.

To install in DOSBox:
1) Unzip the 1997 carmageddon installer (the 1998 one above may also work) into a folder that is mounted as a CD type under dosbox.
2) In dosbox, switch to that CD drive and run the installer.
3) Unzip this archive over the top of the carmageddon installer files, overwriting all files.
4) Launch DOSbox again and run install from that CD drive. Point the installer to your installed version of Carmageddon and install the splat pack into a new folder. The installer will then ask for your original carmageddon CD to be installed. Apparently leaving some of the installer files from step 1 is enough to trick this installer that the CD is available and the install should finish. The install will otherwise fail and not completely transfer all the files over resulting in a "keymap not found" error when launched.
5) crack the main game exe and the 3dFX version by running crack.exe and/or crack_fx.exe as included in this archive.

* Rayman par ses Fans v1.01 [b1] (1998)(Ubi Soft Entertainment Software) [Action].zip - Likely a CD-RIP; language selection seems broken and the french version won't show up. Totally playable in English at least.
* Red Baron 2573 [f1] (1998)(Adam Stanchos) [Action].zip - patched/fixed in 2005 for game speed.
* Risky Woods - Edición Especial v1.1E (Es) (1998)(Dinamic Multimedia, S.A.) [Action].zip - reedition in CD for a collection published in 1998, distributed with a newspaper, called "La colección de videojuegos para PC". This version came without any protection.
The game is "preinstalled" in a folder inside the CD (there isn't installation files, it's only the game prepared to run from the CD or from where you want). The big part of the content of that CD are advertisements files related to that collection and another Dinamic Multimedia titles (the game files occupy only 1'36 Mb of 613 Mb).

* Tie Break Tenis 98' (Installer) (Es)(It)(Pt) (1998)(Hammer Technologies) [Action, Sports][!].zip - CD-ZIP of the bin-cue available in TDC's CD image collection. The files 100% matched a different bin-cue dump made from a different copy.
* Tie Break Tennis 98' [b1] (1998)(Hammer Technologies) [Action, Sports].zip - CD-RIP, with videos removed, so at the start it'll flicker awhile and then the main menu will appear. This version is in English and does not come from the multi-3 language version above (unless it was just translated into english during the CD-RIP?)
* Ultimate Wizardry Archives, The (Installer) (1998)(Interplay Entertainment Corp.) [Role-Playing (RPG), Compilation].zip - CD-ZIP of the bin-cue from redump. Almost identical in content as the [a1] which is a CD-ZIP of the ISO image.
* Viper (1998)(Eclipse) [Action].zip - Don't work correctly in DOSBox (they use some seglimit trick to trigger bank swaps, and DOSBox doesn't check for this). They all run fine in bochs and obviously in real DOS. Same issue exists with Greedy (also from Eclipse) but that one was [f]ixed by peterferrie, so it is possible to patch these to work if someone had the inspiration.
* Virtua School v1.26c [a1] (1998)(Dana LoDico & Josh Noe) [Adventure].zip - same game, different html file.
* Wizardry II- The Knight of Diamonds [DC] (1998)(Sir-tech Software, Inc.) [Role-Playing (RPG)].zip - yes this a 1987 game, but re-released as part of the ultimate wizardry archives in 1998 which is why it's here. This should maybe be removed entirely now that the ultimate wizardry archive is available instead of breaking the pieces out.
It's "fixed" release, with different booter that uses two different images: one is identical to old floppy, while other is exclusive for saves, avoiding a problem where too many saved games will corrupt the game disk. Also, old saves "converted" into "legacy characters" that you can use instead importing your characters at all. (Interesting consequence of this is that you can import old saves with help of first Wizardry version and they will be treated as "legacy". :)

[Adventure].zip - The installer for this game is a windows executable, but the game itself is DOS, so no (Installer) version of this game will be present. Original bin-cue image exists in TDC though in case an installer is ever needed.
* Crazy Brix (1999)(PPPTeam) [Action].zip - Need cycles=max, also very sensitive to sound blaster settings in DOSBox - they *must* match the config created first run, or the game will freeze

* Inmichess v2.17 [b1] (1999)(Inmann Werner) [Strategy, Chess].zip - Simply exits back to DOS prompt when I run it. The 3.0 version works. Best known dump.
* Insane Bugs (1999)(Paradise Studios) [Action].zip - Seem to need very recent DOSBox builds (+ high cycles)
* Krestiki-Noliki (Крестики-нолики) (Ru) [f1] (1999)(Alexey N. Vinogradov) [Strategy].zip - as issued, the sound driver (sbsound.drv) is bad and was replaced with a better one. "The main problem is the included sound driver, which is the "SB clone" driver from the DIGPAK library. Search online for "DMKIT150.ZIP" and put SB16.COM from that archive renamed to SBSOUND.DRV in the game folder." Old, bad driver file was renamed to sbsound.dr_
* Network Q RAC Rally (Installer) (Fr) (1999)(Europress Software Ltd.) [Racing - Driving, Sports].zip - CD-ZIP of bin-cue from redump under the same name, as detailed here:

* NIRA- Intense Import Drag Racing (1999)(Bethesda Softworks LLC) [Racing - Driving, Sports].zip - Start with software.exe not nira.exe. Game crashes on lack of memory for me.
* Pizza Worm v2.1g [b1] (1999)(Zorlim Software) [Action].zip - Crashes and says the hiscore file is bad. It appears the file is PWORM.000. The game creates it if it doesn't exist, but still refuses to run. This 1999 version is runtime patched for turbo pascal speed bug. The original version is in 1995, which also doesn't work.
* PyroPaddles II v1.4 (1999)(Avishay Yagoda) [Action].zip - I cannot get this to run in dosbox, but I have seen screenshots of it, so I assume it works.
* Out of the Park [f1] (1999)(Out of the Park Developments GmbH & Co. KG) [Simulation, Sports].zip - Run OOTPFIX to start the game. The game has a couple of bugs regarding the mouse.
First, the mouse handler routine the game sets up sometimes returns with an IRET instead of a RETF like it should, causing seemingly random crashes when you move the mouse during screen transitions.
Second, when you quit the game back to DOS, it doesn't disable its mouse handler routine, so if you do anything with the mouse after quitting then there is a crash.
The second bug could trigger a crash even if you've arranged for DOSBox to close after the game exits, depending on the user moving the mouse.

[Role-Playing (RPG), Compilation][!].zip - this is the 1999 "classic" re-release. the readme.txt has been changed with the updated name and a few typos fixed in Akalabeth documentation. Looks like an updated copy of direct-x went in as well. This is a CD-ZIP of the bin cue from redump of the same name. This copy bytematched a copy I had locally, so it was bumped up to [!]
