Schemer - an OS/2 sound scheme editor.

What is Schemer?
--------------------
Schemer allows you to view the current system sounds and all sound schemes. You can change sounds in existing schemes, create new schemes, copy one scheme to another, delete schemes. Schemer treats the current system sounds pretty much like just another scheme, and most of the editing functions work for those as well. Most editing functions are implemented via drag and drop. Those that aren't are in the menus.

Schemer is written as a multi-threaded VXREXX program using Watcom's VX-REXX.

System Requirements
--------------------------
OS/2 Warp 4
REXX support configured within OS/2.
MMOS2 OS/2 multimedia support

Note: We have tested Schemer inhouse on multiple Warp 4 systems and we may even have run it under Warp 3 but we don't really remember.

Contents of this package
----------------------------
readme.txt	-	This file
schemer.exe	-	Program executable. Requires REXX.
help -	Help directory - help is in HTML format.
*.ico -	assorted icons used by Schemer
vrobj.dll	-	DLL supplied with VX-REXX (may be backlevel to one in your system).

Installation Instructions
----------------------------
To install Schemer, simply unzip it into its own directory. Depending on the unzip program you use, you may need to specify the "-d" option to ensure that the directory structure remains intact.

Execution Instructions
--------------------------
To run it, double click schemer.exe. Or open an OS/2 window, change to the schemer directory and type schemer.

The first time it is executed Schemer will request that you do some window setup. We like to use the mini icons and system vio font and we put the sounds window all the way on the left. Select the continue menu option when you're done with this initial setup. Schemer will then finish initialization and the file requester will appear in the main window when it is ready for your input.

You can redo the setup at any time since Schemer will remember the window properties including size and position of each of its windows.

IMPORTANT: Schemer initialization can take a few seconds or more depending on how many sound schemes it finds on your system. In all cases, wait until you see the file requester in the main window before proceeding.
