Bomb Squad 1.0

This is a simple game in which you try to locate a number of bombs that
are scattered around the playing field. At the begining of the game you
are faced with a number of grey squares. There may or may not be a bomb
under each square. All that you know at this point is that 80 of the
squares have bombs and the rest don't. To begin playing select one of the
squares by pressing the left mouse button while the mouse pionter is over
the square. If there is a bomb in the square, a red star ( * ) will appear
in all of the squares with bombs and the game is over. If there is not a
bomb in the square then a number appears in the square that is the number
of bombs in adjacent squares. If there are no bombs in any of the adjacent
squares, then all of the adjacent squares will be reveiled.
As you uncover more and more squares you should begin to get an idea
about where the bombs are. For example, if you uncover a square that
indicates there are three adjacent bombs, and there are only three
uncovered adjacent squares, you know that those three squares contain
bombs. You can mark squares that you know have bombs by pressing the right
mouse button. You will not see any indication that you are right or wrong,
in either case you will see a green pound sign ( # ). The bomb counter at
the top of the screen will be decremented and that square will be locked
against accidental selection. If you decide that there is not a bomb
there, simply press the right mouse button again.
When you have either locked or uncovered every square the game is over.
To see how well you have done look at the timer in the upper right corner
of the window. This tells you the number of seconds it took to complete
the game. Of course, sometime before this you may uncover a bomb. In this
case all of the undetected bombs are displayed and the game is over. To
start a new game, select new game from the menu bar.
This is version 1.0 of the game. There are many improvements possible.
