WPSClean 1.0 Release
October 5, 1995

WPSClean is a utility that will help keep the OS/2 system free of unwanted
Workplace Shell classes. Unlike other utilities, this program works without
the user having to understand the complexities of INI files, object class
registration, and object class replacement.

This program is not intended to remove inconsistencies and invalid
data in the Workplace Shell, like MultiMaint does. Instead, it serves
another purpose entirely.

WPSClean will:

+ Automatically remove invalid WorkPlace Shell object classes
(classes which have invalid or missing DLLs)

+ Automatically, forcefully gets out stubborn invalid class replacements

(A bug in OS/2 prevents the normal removal of class replacements
if the replacement class' DLL is missing. This can cause serious
problems later. WPSClean can forcefully remove these stubborn
      replacements.)

+ Force a removal of a known program

Occasionally deinstall programs fail, accidentally get deleted,
or plain don't exist. Non object-based programs can just be deleted
from their directory. However, programs that attach objects to the
system have DLLs that cannot be deleted.

Currently, WPSClean knows how to remove LiveWire 3.0,
LiveWire 3.0 Beta-1, and the LiveWire UNZip Utility.

Other application vendors interested in adding a program to this
list can contact Les Novell by writing to 73631.1233@compuserve.com.
