This is released version 3.1.1 of SGI's Java software, a port of the
Sun's 1.1.6 JDK. It is available on the Web from 
http://www.sgi.com/Products/Evaluation/#jdk

This is a bug fix release. All the bugs fixed by Sun in their 1.1.6
JDK should be in it. Also SGI has fixed a number of bugs such as:
 * Native thread bugs and better native thread performance.
 * Networking Bug so as to enable broadcast messages on datagram Sockets.
 * Font Bug to enable the use of smaller fonts through property -Dsgi.font
 * Script quoting bugs in the java scripts. This requires (as opposed to 
   version 3.1), all ABI and thread package options must come at the 
   beginning of the command line (before all other kinds of options) 
   for all the Java tools.
 * There are no unresolved symbols in the JDK. This used to cause problems
   for a few people writing native Windowing code.
 * Matches Sun's distribution more closely by having classes.zip.

This release is compatible with CosmoCode 2.3. It is 
not compatible with any earlier version of Cosmocode
