Introduction:
**********************************

This is the official release of my Version 2.0 Model of the EA Starfury as seen
on the TV-Show Babylon 5. A Pre-release of this LightWave 3D Model was made available
as an exclusive preview to subscribers of the superb B5MG E-Zine "Beyond Babylon" in
August of 1999. Since that release the file setup of the model has seen some changes,
which require owners of the pre-release model to download it again if they want to
make full use of the flexibility this offers (more on that later).

The SA-23E Mitchell-Hyundyne Starfury is a high performance space combat and
reconnaissance fighter, designed for optimal usability and not to win a beauty contest.
It is often described as "ugly, but well hung", and I think its one of the most
"realistic" looking spacecraft ever designed for Science Fiction TV or Cinema. It
certainly is one of my favourite craft from Babylon 5, which is why I spent so much
effort on this version of the model.

The archive contains all texturemaps, object files and a setup scene of the basic
release, the more detailed cockpit and more add-ons will hopefully become available
shortly.

For the latest news about the status of my models check the 3D Files section of
my website: http://www.GKane.de

PS: Greetings to all the guys of the B5MG out there, their support kept me
modeling and means a lot to me, this is for you... :)

directory like this:
- objects belong into "objects\Babylon5\EA_Starfury\"

with this setup, everything should load into layout without any problems.

To import the fully setup fighter into your scenes, just hit "load from scene" and
select "starfury_setup_scene.lws". All objects are already setup for you and ready
to animate.

About the model:
**********************************

Many people said that they didn't see much wrong with my old model, so why build
a new one? Well, once you have had a look at this mesh, the answer should come
by itself - my old model was totally inaccurate concerning the proportions and
overall feeling of the original design. I think you will agree that this is a
much better and more accurate version, and simply looks awesome in comparison!

V2.0 was built completely from scratch, I did not have access to the original
model data created by Foundation Imaging for the show.

The new file setup allows for easy creation of add-on content for the model. You
want the engines to use a custom map? Just save a new engine file! No need to save
many copies of the entire mesh, you can save the most important parts seperately
and import them as you see fit!

You may modify this model, as long as you don't publish or distribute the modified
version. I'd also apreciate if you could notify me if you use this model, I'd very
much like to see what you can create with this baby!

If you have created an add-on to this model, such as custom imagemaps or a new
cockpit, you MUST contact me before releasing those to the web, I want to give
people the possibility to find all the stuff from one central location on my site!
