This diskette contains the DTC6282-24 ESDI controller co-resident
utility and BIOS loader programs. The DTCLDR.SYS file is a BIOS Loader
program which loads the BIOS program on the DTC6282-24 into the system
RAM (which allows operation faster than from a EPROM). DTCDISK.SYS is
a DOS block device driver which supports DTC ESDI controller co-
residency when using more than one controller. DTCFDISK.EXE is a DOS
partition utility that provides partitioning functions for drives
attached to a DTC ESDI controller set up in the co-residency mode.

Installation Notes - (please reference the Installation Guide for
details on the other features of this controller):

 I. DOS co-resident installation:

    1. If you have installed the DTC6282-24 as a secondary controller
       and are using the DOS operating system you will need to install
       the DTCDISK.SYS command in the system boot disk/diskette
       CONFIG.SYS file. Add the following line:

                           DEVICE=DTCDISK.SYS

    2. Use the DTCFDISK utility to partition the secondary controller's
       disk(s).

    3. Reboot the system.

 II. Formatted with the Head Mapping mode:

    1. If you have installed the DTC6282-24 under DOS and you are using
       "Head Mapping" mode you may want to install DTCLDR.SYS. It will
       enhance the performance by up to 70% The head mapping mode
       enables the user to access each drive up to 8 Giga bytes
       capacity in DOS. This mode breaks the DOS limit of 512 mega
       bytes through BIOS internal conversion but also reduce the
       performance to some extent. This driver compensates the slow
       down caused by conversion. To use the driver, put the line:

                           DEVICE=DTCLDR.SYS

       in the CONFIG.SYS file before other driver statements.

    2. Reboot the system.
