SECTION I Installation Instructions for the EtherWORKS Turbo EISA
	   Adapter (DE425)

Hardware Installation:

   1. When AUI thickwire (15-pin D-sub) or ThinWire (BNC) is selected, cable
selection is performed manually by setting the shunt jumper.
The default jumper setting is for a ThinWire network.
Check the module's shunt jumper setting if either of these connections
      are being used.

   2. Install the board into the appropriate EISA bus slot.

   3. Power on your system and run the ECU Setup utility to configure
the EISA bus slot containing the DE425 board.

   4. Exit the ECU utility and save any changes you have made.
      The system will reboot.

Windows NT Installation ( Previously Installed NT System ) - DE425:

   1. Click on the Network icon on the Window Control Panel.

   2. Select the "Add_Adapter" option.

When using this option, the Installed Adapter Cards field should
be blank. Before continuing, select the "Remove" option to
remove any reference to an adapter board if you have only one
board configured to run on your system.

   3. Select the "Other" option from the Add Network Adapter window.

   4. Insert the EtherWORKS Turbo EISA diskette into the disk drive,
      then click on OK.

   5. Enter the following:

"A:\WIN_NT\ALPHA" for Digital Alpha AXP based processors.

   6. Select the DEC DE425 EISA Ethernet Adapter from the Select OEM Option
      window.

   7. If your diskette is not in drive A, modify the default distribution
path in the Windows NT Setup box to point to the diskette drive, then
      click on Continue.

   8. Continue to configure your network as required.

   9. Enter the Turbo EISA board parameters in the Setup dialog box.
Windows NT does not currently support EISA bus initialization; therefore,
this parameter must be set manually. For example:

      Connection Type: AUI-BNC

NOTE: Make sure you change the Connection Type. The valid choices
       are UTP, AUI-BNC, AUI-15_PIN UTP-Link Disabled , or UTP-Full Duplex.
AUI is the BNC ThinWire or 15 pin D-sub connector. AUI ThinWire and
thickwire connections are controlled by the positioning of the board
       shunt jumper.

   10. Continue to configure your network as required.

   11. Click on OK. You will be prompted to power down your system.
       Click on YES.
NT will display a RESTART box. DO NOT Select RESTART at this time.

NOTE: Power down your EISA based processor at this time, then power on
your computer to complete the installation.

  12. Upon completion, the following board identification will appear in the
Installed Adapter Cards list of the Network Setting box
      (n is the adapter number).
