Installing 3Com V.90 MPCI Modem 556B


If you have installed Windows 2000 Professional, and your HP Notebook
contains a built-in 3Com V.90 MPCI Modem 556B, you need to install 
the modem drivers. The modem drivers are contained in the 
\HP\DRIVERS\W2K\MODEM\PCIMODEM subdirectory. If you are unsure which
modem has been supplied, review Which_1.txt contained in the 
\HP\DRIVERS\W2K\MODEM subdirectory.


1. Windows should discover your modem.  If the modem is not recognize the modem, 
   Use the Add/Remove Hardware wizard in Control Panel.

2. Click OK on the "Insert Disk" screen.

3. Browse to Modem driver directory: \HP\DRIVERS\W2K\MODEM\PCIMODEM.

4. Click Next to install modem drivers.
