Introduction:
Based on the 3Dfx Voodoo Rush 3D accelerator, Voodoo Rush brings high 2D performance as well as affordable real-time 3D rendering to personal computers and 3D entertainment systems.
Using 3Dfx's Voodoo Graphics technology, Voodoo Rush uses a shared-memory architecture to coexist with Alliance Promotion AT25 graphics accelerator, giving a tightly coupled 2D/3D display system with unbeatable 3D performance.
Voodoo Rush 3D accelerator provides real-time shading, texturing, and lighting of triangle data. Its features include 3Dfx's high-resolution depth-buffering with Gouraud shading, true-perspective texture mapping using multiple-level-of-detail filtering, texture anti-aliasing, sub-pixel correction, alpha blending, and dithering. Special effects such as fog and multi-pass texturing are also supported.
Voodoo Rush supports for 3Dfx's native interface, Glide, as well as standard environments including Microsoft Direct3D, OpenGL, and others.
