WARNINGS -------- Running the Frontier GlobalCenter Setup Program will alter your current Internet network settings. The Frontier GlobalCenter Setup Program will install Microsoft(R) Internet Explorer 4.01 software on your system. If you don't want to upgrade your current Internet Explorer software, or if you want to use a Web browser other than Internet Explorer, follow the instructions in the file named manual.txt in the Readme folder on the Frontier GlobalCenter CD-ROM. Before you begin the installation, check that your system meets the basic requirements. See "Basic Requirements for Installing," next. BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR INSTALLING ------------------------------------ You must check that your system meets the basic requirements before you install. 1. From the Start Menu, choose Settings, and then choose Control Panel. 2. In the Control Panel, double-click the Network icon, and then select the Services tab at the top of the Network window. 3. Check that the Network Services list includes both Remote Access Services and Simple TCP/IP Services. If one or both of these services is not listed, you need to install them now. 4. To install network services, click Add in the Network window, and then select the service that you need to install from the Select Network Service list. When installing Remote Access Services, Windows NT tries to automatically detect your Ethernet card. If the operating system cannot detect what type of Ethernet card you have, or if you do not have an Ethernet card, Windows NT prompts you to select an Ethernet card from the Network Adapter list. If you do not have an Ethernet card, select MS Loopback Adapter from the list. Windows NT may also try to automatically detect your modem if you have not previously installed one. Click Continue. 5. In the Network Window, verify that both Remote Access Services and Simple TCP/IP Services are installed, and then click the Protocols tab. Verify that the TCP/IP Protocol is installed. If this protocol is not installed, you need to install it now. 6. To install the TCP/IP Protocol, click Add, and then select TCP/IP from the protocols list. You may be asked to load your original Windows NT CD-ROM during this portion of the setup. 7. Verify that Remote Access Services, Simple TCP/IP Services, and TCP/IP Protocol are all installed, and then click Close in the Network Window. When the operating system advises that it needs to restart your computer, click Yes. INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTOMATIC INSTALLATION --------------------------------------- This section provides instructions for Frontier GlobalCenter installation and account setup. The Frontier GlobalCenter Setup Program starts by launching the Microsoft Internet Explorer Setup program. To install the Internet Explorer software, follow the prompts and instructions that appear on your screen. * In the Destination Folder window, click Ok to install Internet Explorer in the default destination, or browse for the path to a different folder. Frontier GlobalCenter recommends that you install Internet Explorer in its default destination, if possible. * If Internet Explorer software is currently installed on your system, the Setup program prompts you to upgrade or reinstall components. When the Internet software has been installed and the Setup Program advises that it must restart your computer, click OK. (Do NOT manually restart your computer!) After your computer restarts, you must access the Frontier GlobalCenter online registration system. Follow these steps: 1. Locate and double-click the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop. 2. Enter the information that the registration system requests. 3. When registration is complete, your Frontier GlobalCenter username, password, and local access phone number are configured on your system. If you have any problems with this installation, contact Frontier GlobalCenter's 24-hour Technical Support at 1-800-463-8386, option 4. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Microsoft is a registered trademark in the United States and other countries.
