Rather confused by the outdated Shareware notice in the Documentation.

the program still says shareware, it means I goofed! please revisit the
site and let me know if you got the right binaries.

The site contains two binaries now:
 - the one compiled on Linux 1.1.59 is in the a.out format
 - the one compiled on Linux 2.0.0 is in the new ELF format

By all means, put it in EVERY distribution you might be authorized to.
The reason Pash went freeware is to braoder the user base.

Dear Christophe,

Sure, go right ahead!
