information about this product. Please read this file once before you start
using this product.

Before installing Desktop On-Call
---------------------------------

* To install Desktop On-Call on OS/2 Warp 3/4, you have to apply the latest
  CSD to your operating system.

  - In case of Japanese Warp3, WX03006 or later.
  - In case of Japanese Warp4, FixPak FX00505 + SinglePTF JR12308 or later.
  - In case of English Warp4, fix pack 6 or later.


Before uninstalling Desktop On-Call
-----------------------------------

* Just right after uninstall Desktop On-Call from OS/2, OS/2 never shutdown
  even tough you select shutdown. you also have to force shutdown the system
  by Ctrl + Alt + Del.


When invoking Desktop On-Call
-----------------------------

* Please do NOT start Desktop On-Call executable modules from explorer or
  other launcher. It will cause unexpected trouble.


When remote controlling
-----------------------

* When you cannot connect from your browser even if you enter the correct URL,
  please check the Desktop On-Call server machine if the status is "Stopped".
  If the status is "Stopped", please push "start" button to make the status
  "Waiting".

* When controlling Windows, the performance or the quality of drawing may be
  extremely bad if the screen color is not Windows standard. Please use
  the standard color set.

* When controlling OS/2 with 256 or less color screen, selecting
  "solid paint" as the color of desktop background and title bar
  makes the performance and quality of drawing better.

* When controlling Windows 95/98, unlock window of the screen saver may flick on
  the browser side if the motion of the screen saver is very active. Even so,
  you can still input the password.

* When controlling OS/2, please do not enter the full screen mode. Once you
  enter the fullscreen mode, you lose the control and never be able to be
  back to PM.

* When controlling OS/2, the lock icon shown by the screen saver is not
  displayed on the browser side and only the entire black screen is displayed
  but it's working correctly.

* When controlling OS/2, if the heavy application like showing animation GIFs
  is running on the Desktop On-Call server side, the input from the browser
  may not be transferred to the server side.

* Comet Cursor ( OS/2 function ) makes worse movement of mouse pointer
  in controlling side, if you are using OS/2 Netscape Navigator as
  controlling side. please set the comment cursor off to avoid 
  above situation.

* You might not be able to input Tab, Esc nor arrow keys
  when you are using Internet Explorer 4.0 Macintosh version.
  These are Internet Explorer 4.0 Macintosh version's limitations.
  
* If you are using IBM 3270/5250 Personal communication via Desktop 
  On-Call, P-Com unique key such as Execution key (Enter Key) does not
  work properly. We recommend to use Popup-KeyPad function of P-com by
  mouse operation.

* Some screen saver makes the Desktop On-Call download performance
  down seriously. Please check your screen saver before you actually use
  Desktop On-Call.

* If the screen resolution is changed during remote control, you may be
  requested user ID/password again. In the case, please input the correct
  user ID/password.

* If the screen resolution is changed during remote control, window size
  on the browser may become incorrect. In the case, please log on again by
  pushing the "reload" or "logon" button.

* When using Netscape Navigator 4.0 for AIX, please select "Internet Explorer"
  as the primary browser. If "Netscape" is selected, screen
  drawing may be incorrect.


About basic connection mode
---------------------------

* If you are using the browser which doesn't meet the requirement of
  Desktop On-Call (JavaScript, LiveConnect), basic connection mode will
  start. Following browsers can use only this basic connection mode.

    - IE4, IE4.5 for Mac
    - Netscape 4.04 for OS/2
    - Netscape 4.6 (all platforms)

  This mode has the following restrictions.

    - Only one browser window is used.
    - Screen reduction rate is only 100%. Zoom function is disabled.
    - File transfer function is disabled.
    - SSL option is off.


About instruction pointer
-------------------------

* When controlling OS/2, the area around the pointer will not be updated
  even if the screen is changed. The area will be redrawn after the second
  pointer moves.

* When controlling Windows, the mouse key event happened on the instruction
  pointer will be discarded.


About SSL
---------

* JDK 1.1 or higher is required on the browser side.

* SSL is not supported on OS/2 Warp3.

* Simple remote control mode doesn't support SSL.


About wallpaper off
-------------------

* Wallpaper off is not support on OS/2.

* When you control Windows NT machine, wallpaper might not be recover
  after disconnection. Re-logon will recover the wallpaper or
  please re-select the wallpaper after selecting other wallpaper once.

* When using Windows version with "Wallpaper Off" option ON, if you
  try to connect to the same machine on which the browser is working
  with Netscape Navigator, screen redrawing happens repeatedly
  and the connection fails.

* When using Windows version with "Wallpaper Off" option ON, if you
  log off and log on again, the wallpaper is displayed again.


About 256 color while idling time
----------------------------------

* If you find out the 256 color while idling time is not working properly,
  please check if an clock or a pulse in Warp center is working.
  This kind of tools are always updating Screen, that is why
  OS/2 system does not go to idle state. So Desktop On-Call
  can not send 256 color information due to no idle time.
  Do not use this kind of tools.


About logon panel
-----------------

* If you leave the logon panel without inputting user ID/password more than
  3 minutes, logon time out occurs. After that, you cannot log on even if
  you input the correct user ID/password. In the case, please restart the
  logon panel by pushing the reload or logon button.


About on-line help
------------------

* To refer to the on-line help, web browser is required. In case of OS/2,
  Netscape Communicator 4.04 is required.


About file transfer
-------------------

* When using the file transferring function on Netscape Communicator for Mac,
  following restrictions are applied.

  - The home directory on the guest PC is the directory where the browser is
    installed.
  - The home directory on the guest PC cannot be changed.
  - Directory copy is disabled.
  - The user cannot make a new directory on the guest PC.
  - Date information may not be correct.
  - The user cannot edit the directory path. To traverse the directory, please
    select it in the list box.


About Windows98
---------------

* Desktop On-call connection may fail from the browser attached to
  Active Desktop.

* "Remove wallpaper" option is not effective if the browser is attached to
  Active Desktop.

* Multi-display is not supported.


About Mac
---------

* Any combinations of any modifier keys such as control, shift, option, command
  are ignored. Only one modifier key can be combined with any character keys.
  (command + Q combination is OK. shift + command + Q is NG.)


About Mac browsers
------------------

* When using any browsers on Mac (Internet Explorer or Netscape Communicator),
  please allocate 8MB - 12 MB memory to the browser.
  If the actual memory is small, please make the virtual memory large enough.

* When using Internet Explorer, please select MRJ from Apple as JVM. You can
  download the latest MRJ from Apple's Web-page.

* When using Internet Explorer, please do not push "Back" button. It could
  halt the system.
