INSTALLATION STEPS FOR Windows NT ** 1. Prepare the hard disk drives of your server according to instructions in Windows NT manual. 2. Boot with the Windows NT Setup diskette. 3. Select "Custom Setup" in the "Windows NT Setup" screen. 4. At this point of the installation program scans the system for SCSI controllers installed in the system. Once this scan is complete, select "S" to "Configure Additional SCSI Adapters". 5. Select Others from the list of SCSI adapters. 6. When prompted to insert "Manufacturer-supplied support disk" insert IBM RAID Controller support diskette into drive A: 7. Select "IBM RAID Controller" and press Enter. 8. Continue with normal installation process according to instructions in Windows NT manual. NOTE - When installing onto a logical drive whose write policy is set to write-back (WB), wait for 10 seconds after being prompted to press Ctrl+Alt+Del before actually pressing these keys. This gives the RAID Controller enough time to flush out all dirty cache pages to hard disk. 9. After successful installation copy RAIDADMN.EXE to \winnt\system32 directory. 10. The RAID administration can be started by entering RAIDADMN [/lf=d:\path\logfile] at any command prompt. Where logfile is the file name where RAIDADMN message will be logged. If /lf is omitted, a default logfile IBMRAID.LOG is created in the \winnt subdirectory if one exists. When /lf switch is used make sure that the drive d: and path \path exists. RAIDADMN will not create a subdirectory if one does not exist. You can define a RAID icon by selecting the file option in the Program Manager option. Select New... from the menu and select Program Item from New Program Object Menu.
