Windows NT Floppy Enabler Driver Changes With the release of Windows NT version 4.0, the drivers for the floppy enabliers have been included in the Windows NT Driver Library (\DRVLIB) included on the Windows NT version 4.0 compact disc. The following drivers are available: cmsfcxx.sys for the following adapters: CMS FC-10 CMS FC-20 TC-15 genflpy.sys for the following adapters: Conner (adapter has no name on card) Please see the Windows NT Hardware Compatibility List for additional information on these storage adapters. To install drivers after running Windows NT version 4.0 Setup: 1. After installing the floppy enablier adapter and tape drive in your machine, boot into Windows NT version 4.0 as normal. 2. From the Start button, open Settings, open Control Panel, then open the Tape Devices program. 3. Select the Drivers tab, then click the Add button. 4. Click the Have Disk button, point to DrvLib\Storage\Fenb\CMS (or Conner) and click OK. 5. Accept the driver from the line presented and click OK, then set correct adapter settings from Driver Options choices, click Continue to load the driver, then retype the DrvLib path. 6. You need to reboot your Windows NT version 4.0 system to activate the driver. Choose Yes to shutdown and restart. 7. After the floppy enablier driver is loaded, the QIC117 driver must also be loaded using the Tape Devices applet in Control Panel. 8. If NTbackup program does not recognize the tape driver, review power and cable connections to tape drive. The above steps can be repeated also without injury to program or body.
