The Run Norton 2000 Agent package requires some modification to make it work with Norton 2000 Database and SQL server.

To modify the Run Norton 2000 Agent package
  1. Fron the Norton System Center Console, click Packages in the control tree. A list of packages appears to the right in the details pane.
  2. In the details pane, right-click Run Norton 2000 Agent and select Modify Package.
  3. In the Edit Software Package screen, under Package type, select Run Program From File Set if it is not already selected.
  4. Modify the program name to fit your organization's needs. The command-line scanner accepts the following parameters:

N2kagent /x /a /b /i <filename.era> /e "%t\%m"
/a scans the machine's applications
/b scans the machine's BIOS
/x scans the machine's data
/i creates a log file to display the more serious year 2000 issues from within the Norton System Center Console
filename.era specifies a certain profile to use when scanning. See Chapter 5 in the manual for more information on working with profiles.

The /e switch tells Norton 2000 where to store the export files from the target machines. This switch uses the following parameters in quotation marks:
"%t" uses the server's temporary directory to store the export files from target machines.
"%m" creates a subdirectory on the server based on the machine name. This directory stores the export files for that machine. When used with the %t switch, the subdirectory is created under the system's \temp directory.
"%u" is the same as the %m switch, but it creates subdirectories based on the users' login names. When used with the %t switch, the subdirectory is created under the system's \temp directory.
