IDENTIFYING THE TAPE DEVICE
===========================

The products you selected require the tapes listed. You must
specify where the tape drive is located.

Select    When the drive is

   1      Local (attached to this workstation).

   2      Remote drive (attached to another workstation).

          When prompted, type the host name of the workstation
          to which the remote drive is attached.

          If you are installing from a remote drive,
          you must have the permissions specified below on

IDENTIFYING THE MOUNT POINT
===========================

Specify the mount point (the directory in which the
CD-ROM is mounted).

Select    When the Mount Point is
------    ---------------------------------------------

   1      /cdrom

   2      Not /cdrom. Type the path to the mount point,
          such as /net/cd_host/cdrom

ERRORS
------
If you see these messages later, the CD-ROM is not mounted
or you do not have the correct permissions on the remote
workstation.

    ERROR: /cdrom/IMAGES.DIR not readable
    ERROR: unable to read from /cdrom/IMAGES.DIR, CD_device_name

If you are prompted for an unavailable CD-ROM,
you have these options.

Mount CD    Mount the CD-ROM from the window SoftLoad pops up.

Main Menu   Return to the Main Menu of this installation program.
            Select this if you need to use a different CD-ROM
            drive than you specified earlier. Start the
            installation over again.

Skip CD     Continue installing the software but do not use
            this CD-ROM. Software on this CD-ROM will not
            be installed. To install the software later,
            you must select Install Software from the Main Menu.

MOUNTING THE CD-ROMS
--------------------

Verify that the requested CD-ROM is in the CD-ROM drive. You must
mount (and unmount if changing CD-ROMs) the /cdrom directory
whenever you reinsert the caddy into the drive.

SoftLoad provide you a shell from which you can mount and
unmount the CD-ROMs.

To Mount a CD-ROM, follow these steps.
-------------------------------------

    1. Log in as root on the workstation attached to the CD-ROM drive.

    2. If you are changing CD-ROMs, umount and eject the CD-ROM by typing

            umount /cdrom
            o On a Sun, type

                /bin/eject /dev/sr0

            o On a DEC, HP, or IBM, push the eject button.

    3. Insert the requested CD-ROM.

    4. Mount the /cdrom directory.

       Use the appropriate operating system command for your device,
       possibly one of those below.

         Platform        Mount Command

         DEC Alpha AXP   /sbin/mount -o ro,noversion -t cdfs /dev/rzxx  /cdrom

         Sun             /etc/mount -o ro -t hsfs /dev/sr0  /cdrom


    5. Type 'exit'  to return to the installation.
