Mathcad 7 Patch Files

Mathcad 7 Professional Patch
Current Patch Level: 7.02a (November 1997)

The patch program updates English-language versions of Mathcad 7
Professional (U.S./Canada version or English international version)
dated before November 13, 1997 to level 7.02a. If the file
MCAD.EXE in your installation of Mathcad is dated November 13,
1997, your copy of Mathcad is already at version 7.02a. The
patch program will not patch Mathcad 7 Standard or Mathcad 7
Student, for which separate patch programs are available.
If you previously installed the 7.02 update, the
patch program will update your Mathcad program file to
version 7.02a.

How to Patch Your Copy of Mathcad 7 Professional

1. Download the Patch Archive

We provide three patch archives, two for program files and
one for Resource Center files. All are self-extracting
installation programs:

   * 702EXE.EXE (2,727,923 bytes), a patch that updates Mathcad and
     MathConnex program executables and components as well as Help
     files from any prior version of Mathcad 7 Professional to
     version 7.02a.
   * 702A.EXE (257,974 bytes), a patch that updates the Mathcad
     executable only from version 7.02 to version 7.02a.
   * 702RC.EXE (450,004 bytes), a patch that updates only Mathcad 7
     Resource Center files to version 7.02a.

 We recommend that you download the patch archive to the location of
 your Mathcad program files. By default the Mathcad installation
 program installs program files in the
 C:\Program Files\MathSoft\Mathcad folder.
 If you are unsure about where your Mathcad program files are
 located, search for the folder that contains the Mathcad
 program MCAD.EXE.

2. Run the Patch Program

 If you downloaded the patch archive to another location, first move
 it to the location of your Mathcad program files. The patch program
 will not work correctly if the patch archive is not in the
 correct location.

Follow these instructions:

   * Close Mathcad or MathConnex if you currently have either
     application open.
   * Use Windows Explorer to locate the archive file you downloaded.
   * Double-click the self-extracting archive.
   * Follow the on-screen instructions to enter the location of
     Mathcad 7 Professional program files.

NOTE: The patch program will not make any changes to any Mathcad or
MathConnex MCD, MCX, PRN, DAT, CXS, or AVI files you have created.
You may safely leave your working files in any directories where the 
patch is taking place.

If the patch program is unable to locate a file to patch, you will
see a warning dialog box. If you choose to patch your Mathcad and
MathConnex program files, you can verify that your installation of
Mathcad 7 Professional has been patched if you see the characters
"-2a" after your serial number when you start up Mathcad, or when
you choose About Mathcad from the Help menu. The patched file
MCAD.EXE will be dated November 13, 1997.

Once you have patched Mathcad, you may safely delete the patch
archive you downloaded.
