RULEFIX.EXE: ~~~~~~~~~~ RuleFix is a command-line administrator tool to remove legacy Schedule+ delegation rules from pre-release copies of Microsoft Exchange Server data stores. These legacy rules will cause delegates to receive two copies of meeting requests/responses or out-of-date delegates to keep receiving meeting requests/responses. Running RULEFIX: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ USAGE: rulefix where is a full pathname to the server. Redirecting the output to a log file is strongly recommended. EXAMPLE: rulefix /o=ORGANISATION/ou=SITE/cn=SERVER > output.txt [or] EXAMPLE: rulefix /o=ORGANISATION/ou=SITE/cn=SERVER | tee output.txt RuleFix will display a Microsoft Exchange logon dialogue to select the messaging profile. 1) The server name for the profile MUST match the server name specified on the command line. 2) The user account on this server MUST have service account admin permissions. RuleFix iterates through each mailbox and fixes any legacy rules it finds. When complete, check the log file for any errors. [NEED LOG FILE CONTENT HERE] The tool takes anywhere from 1-5 seconds per user, depending on server load and hardware configuration. Your mileage may vary. Notes: ~~~~~ 1) The tool need only be run ONCE against the released Microsoft Exchange server. 2) The tool is NOT required if there are no manager/delegate users on that server, or the server data store was created with the released version of Microsoft Exchagne server. 3) The tool can be run from any Windows NT or Windows 95 machine with Microsoft Exchange client software installed. Running the tool from a Windows NT command prompt is recommended. 4) The user running this tool MUST have "Service Account Admin" permissions on the Microsoft Exchange server. 5) The tool REQUIRES a profile configured for EACH server you will run the tool against. See note#2 above to determine which servers might need cleaning. 6) Using an admin account for the profile is strongly recommended.
